STASH welcomes a premiere event coming to downtown Norman; Wig Wag Drag Show from 6 pm to 9 pm, Saturday, Sept. 30th at STASH, 412 E. Main St., in Norman.

Wig Wag Drag Show will feature Drag Queens from OKC’s Haus Down Productions and benefits the Mutts Misfits animal rescue. Tickets include admission to the show, and speciality cocktails from The Opolis. The cost of tickets is $8 in advance, and $10 day of, and a special VIP opportunity for $15.

“The VIP experience is for those who want to meet the queens before the show, ask questions, and take pictures with them. It’s going to be a blast,” says STASH manager Holly Jones.

“The buzz for Wig Wag has been pretty epic. Drag queens and dog costume contest-- I’m thrilled that we came up with this concept. This is going to be one of the most creative events that we’ll host for the rest of the year. And it’s all for a great cause-- the Mutt Misfits organization,” says organizer and STASH owner, Rebecca Bean.

Mutt Misfits is an animal rescue based in OKC. They take in animals who are typically deemed as unadoptable, says Heather Hernandez director of Mutt Misfits. “We hope to be able to change the public's perspective on special needs animals. It's our goal to show adopters that animals don't have to be ‘perfect’ to make perfect companions.”

Drag queens will give several performances throughout the evening to upbeat dj music, and locals are invited to jump on stage to be part of the show with the costume contest. The dog costume contest has two categories; homemade and store bought. Entry to the contest is $5, and dog owners are welcome to dress up but don’t have to.

“We are really excited for this show! All of the queens have massive amounts of love for fur babies of all shapes and sizes,” says Chace Hindeman-Cleveland, Owner of Haus Down Productions. “We are honored to be able to help raise money for the animals and to be a voice for those who don't have one. You can definitely expect to see a wide variety of drag styles, from the dancing divas to the artistic masterminds and all of those in between. We can't wait to see all of your gorgeous faces as we dance the night away and raise money for our best friends,

“We hope to see several very imaginative costumes come through,” says Bean. “This is truly a family friendly event, we welcome all ages to enjoy a fun time in Norman. If this inaugural event is as successful as we think it will be, we’ll bring it back."
