Craft beer enthusiasts, furry friends and their humans came out in full support of a fundraiser that brought our wonderful community together. Hair of the Dog | Oktoberfest was orchestrated, operated and held by your favorite local shop, STASH; together we raised $7,000 in donations for The Bella Foundation.
The Bella Foundation is a non-profit local organization founded “Because Every Little Life is Amazing,” or simply, “Bella.” They believe that “every animal deserves to receive the best possible care regardless of the owner’s ability to pay.” All profits raised at Hair of the Dog will go towards making that a reality.
We reached out to locally founded craft breweries and had a resounding response. Seven breweries were willing to donate their time, man-hours and lets not forget – their unique brand of craft beer – all for The Bella Foundation. The tremendous list of breweries that donated includes: 405 Brewing Co., Anthem Brewing Co., The Brewhouse, COOP Ale Works, Elk Valley Brewing Co., Iron Monk Brewing Co., and Mustang Brewery. Thank you guys, we couldn’t have done it without you.Tickets were sold for $10 each and allotted for a sample from each of the seven breweries. A ticket also allowed admission into a party that was delightfully altruistic and kind-spirited.
Shea Gillock and Jana Carson talk up seasonal beer selections crafted by 405 Brewing Co.
Dave Monks brewed and donated several styles from his Iron Monk Brewing Company out of Stillwater, OK.
We had the pleasure of hosting multiple local bands and artists who provided their time and talent to create a festive atmosphere for our wonderful guests. Our volunteers did some amazing work and we had some extraordinary sponsors that made this possible. Thank you guys, you are all truly fantastic.
Singer-songwriter Camille Harp donated her time to entertain the crowd.
Rebecca Bean, STASH owner, says, “This event was more successful than I could have imagined. The level of support from breweries, to bands, to volunteers, to those who bought tickets, and from local businesses was simply astounding. Our deepest gratitude goes out to all who volunteered their time, energy, goods, and services in support of the Bella foundation. This was a true community event that was a lot of fun. We should do it again! Just not anytime too soon.”
Eric McCune, founder and chairman of The Bella Foundation, says, "I cannot thank everyone enough for all the hard work in putting together such an awesome event. We are so grateful."
Hair of the Dog | Oktoberfest was as great a success as it was because of YOU! Everyone that came out and partied with us for The Bella Foundation made a real difference. It’s truly an incredible thing when all kinds of people come together for a cause as deserving and significant as The Bella Foundation, events and moments like Hair of the Dog are what really makes a town feel like a community. We would love to see the way YOU experienced Hair of the Dog! Share your photos and thoughts with us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
Genesee and Kai Thompson brought their dogs, Pita and Phoebe, out to enjoy the festivities.
We also need to thank our wonderful sponsors of this event: The Modern Prairie Craftsman, Fowler Auto Group, 10 Acre Woods, Annie's Ruff House, North Wind Studio, Canadian River Cruisers Car Club, Griffis Bros, Forest Lumber and furry friend loving, craft beer enthusiasts like yourself.

On January 18th, one of STASH’s owners, Rebecca, rescued a very desperate momma dog from the Norman Animal Shelter. She was “due any minute”, and it was a holiday weekend, so chances were, Momma would give birth alone, in a cold and dirty concrete cage. We took her home, gave “Cita” (short for “Mamacita”) a bath, and tried to fatten [...]
